5K Run/Walk and Health Fair
February 4, 2023
The Greater Tampa Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated invites your participation in our annual Tutus and Tennis Shoes: Elevating ALL Children 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair, to be held February 4, 2023. This health and wellness event includes a scenic 5K route in historic downtown Tampa, a Children’s Fun Run, and a Health Fair. All participants will receive a race t-shirt and Finisher’s Medal.
The Tutus and Tennis Shoes Health Fair is an integral part of the event and is intended to provide community information and resources on living. The Health Fair will include presentations by health professionals on various topics, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, sickle cell, mental health, self-esteem for girls, and dental hygiene.
This event will promote healthy living for families and children in the Tampa Bay community. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jack and Jill of America Foundation, our national organization’s philanthropic arm, which provides donations to national non-profit partners and also awards grants to its chapters. The remaining proceeds will be directly donated to Tampa-based charities that serve children and families. Last years proceeds were donated to the following four charities:

What is the Theme of the 5k?
Tutus and Tennis Shoes: Elevating All Children 5K Run/Walk
How many miles is a 5K?
A 5K is 3.1 miles. You can choose to walk, jog or run it. All levels of fitness are welcome.
Is the event timed?
Yes
Are walkers welcome at the 5K?
Yes. We welcome walkers.
May I bring a stroller to the event?
Yes, strollers are allowed however we ask that families bringing strollers and participating in the 5K line up towards the end of the starting line as a courtesy to other runners.
Are dogs allowed at 5K?
As a safety precaution, we do not allow dogs to participate in the run unless they are service dogs.
Is there an age limit for this event?
No age limit, we welcome younger runners and encouraged them to participate. If the participant/runner is younger than 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must sign their waiver.
What is included with my 5K registration?
All pre-registered walkers/runners will receive a bib/race number and an official GTC Tutus and Tennis Shoes 5K T-Shirt. Finishers will also receive a medal. Participants who register on the day of the event may will receive a t-shirt as quantity lasts.
Is a medal included with my 5K registration?
All registered runners who complete the run, will receive a finisher medal.
Will there be awards?
First place finishers will receive a trophy award.
How can I help support the 5K?
You can continue to advertise the 5k to your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors. Encourage registrations, sponsors and vendors to participate and support this great cause.
